Savalera X-Series Agents: Building Next-Generation Tool-Using Agent Architectures for Complex Problem Solving
Developing three distinct agent architectures—ax1, vx1, and hx1—as the foundation for our upcoming commercial agent offerings, applying project management methodologies to workflow planning and execution.
We’re developing our X-Series agents—the core technology platform that will power Savalera’s commercial agent offerings. This initiative focuses on building production-ready agent architectures that can handle complex, multi-step reasoning problems while maintaining reliable tool utilization capabilities.
The X-Series consists of three agent architectures designed to test different approaches to autonomous problem-solving while maintaining the ability to use external tools and resources.
Agent architectures
-
ax1 implements a ReAct (Reasoning and Acting) architecture with integrated planning capabilities delivered through system prompt engineering. This approach combines reasoning, action, and observation cycles with explicit planning instructions to guide task execution.
-
vx1 features a deep agent architecture based on a V-model design pattern. The system includes a dedicated planning mechanism with vairous subagents that plan and oversee task execution and a built-in feedback loop for performance adjustment and error correction.
-
hx1 extends the vx1 architecture by incorporating human-in-the-loop control mechanisms. This hybrid approach allows for human intervention and guidance while maintaining the autonomous capabilities of the underlying agent system.
Research and development approach
We’re rigorously testing these architectures using questions from the GAIA benchmark to ensure they meet performance requirements for real-world deployment. This evaluation framework provides complex, multi-step problems that mirror the challenges our commercial agents will face in production environments.
Our development process includes testing across various large language model backends to optimize architecture-model combinations for different use cases and performance requirements.
Technical foundation
Each X-Series architecture addresses specific deployment scenarios. The ax1 provides efficient performance for straightforward tool-using tasks, while vx1 offers enhanced capabilities for complex, multi-step workflows requiring extensive coordination and planning.
The hx1 variant addresses enterprise scenarios where human oversight and intervention capabilities are essential for compliance, quality assurance, or strategic decision-making processes.
Development status
We’re currently experimenting with various agent configurations using project management methods to optimize workflow planning and execution. This development phase focuses on ensuring robust, reliable operation across the range of scenarios our commercial offerings will need to handle.
The X-Series represents the technical foundation for Savalera’s agent products, combining proven architectural patterns with innovative planning and coordination mechanisms designed for production deployment.
Commercial trajectory
We’re building both fast (ax1) and deep (vx1 and hx1) agents that are unique due to their professional project management-based configurations. These agents are designed to be extensible and adaptable to various client scenarios, with architectures that can be customized for specific workflow requirements and operational contexts.
